Alexander Technique - The Alexander Technique teaches how to recognize and overcome habituated limitations within a person's manner of movement. The Alexander Technique is usually learned from an Alexander teacher in one-to-one sessions by an Alexander student, using specialized hand contact and verbal instructions.
Direction (Alexander Technique) - Direction is a term for a principal tool used in practicing the Alexander Technique. The principle underlying "Direction" is the substitution response, practiced to prevent habitual solutions from becoming more exaggerated and ingrained over time.
The Weston Technique - The Weston Technique, named after its inventor, Alexander Weston (b. 1974), is a little-known but effective method of putting one's shoes on without undoing the fastenings; typically this applies to lace-up shoes but the technique is relatively new and it may well be that it is equally effective with regard to other footwear with velcro fastenings, for instance trainers.
